The territorial delegation for Health in Jaén and the Asociación de Mujeres Afectadas de Cáncer de Mama (AJICAM) have held a first working meeting. The aim, according to the Servicio Andaluz de Salud, is to listen to the association's proposals and concerns and to open a line of collaboration to address possible improvements in the breast cancer screening programme.
What was discussed
At the meeting, views were shared on the care given to the women who take part in the programme. They also discussed the importance of improving information and communication during the different phases of the process and of coordination between the different levels of care.
According to the territorial delegate, Lucía Mónica Pérez, the purpose is «to maintain a fluid dialogue with AJICAM, to learn first-hand about the needs they raise with us and to work jointly on identifying possible areas for improvement». Pérez added that they want to give continuity to this collaboration and move forward «by analysing the proposals and assessing the actions that could help improve care for women».
