A total of 220 healthcare professionals take part this Wednesday in Cádiz in the V Jornadas de Atención al Trauma Grave, a meeting organised by the Comité Provincial del Trauma Grave together with the Hospital Universitario Puerta del Mar. The event brings together staff from emergency services in the province and healthcare workers from different profiles related to this type of patient.
What is addressed
The programme reviews, with a practical and multidisciplinary approach, the key points in the care of a person with severe trauma: from urgent care before reaching the hospital and once in the centre to damage control surgery. To this end, professionals with extensive experience in this field are taking part.
According to the organisers, the management of severe trauma remains a first-rate care challenge, in which speed in decision-making and coordination between teams are decisive for the survival and prognosis of patients. In this context, they point out, continuing training and scientific updating are essential tools to act safely when every minute counts.
Objectives of the meeting
In addition to updating knowledge, the activity seeks to jointly analyse strengths, identify areas for improvement and create alliances that allow standardising the care response in the province of Cádiz. This year the event has the motto «Unidos por la experiencia. Comprometidos con la vida».
These conferences follow those held last year at the Hospital Universitario de La Línea de la Concepción. Both centres depend on the Consejería de Presidencia, Sanidad y Emergencias.
Authorities present
The opening was attended by the delegate of the Gobierno de la Junta de Andalucía in the province, Mercedes Colombo, and the territorial delegate of Sanidad y Consumo, Eva Pajares.
