The Junta de Andalucía has deactivated the Emergency Plan for Flood Risk after DANA Adam lost strength and the adverse weather warnings ended in the eight provinces. The 112 Andalucía service has coordinated 696 rain- and wind-related incidents since last Saturday.

Where it hit hardest

Almería has been the most affected province, with 180 emergencies, followed by Cádiz, with 156, and Málaga, with 154. Together the three account for 490 incidents, more than 70 % of the total. After them come Sevilla (84), Granada (62), Córdoba (43), Jaén (12) and Huelva (5). By type of alert, most have been natural hazards, with 451 incidents, mainly due to flooding and waterlogging. There have also been 74 disruptions to basic services, 46 rescues and saves, 43 traffic incidents, 34 collapses or falling objects, 13 road accidents and two medical assistances, as well as another 33 of a different nature.

Two roads remain closed in Córdoba

The Andalusian road network is returning to normal. Only two roads in the province of Córdoba remain affected, with three sections closed:
  • The CO-4103, between kilometres 0 and 13, between Bujalance and Villa del Río.
  • The CO-4207, between kilometres 0 and 9.1, between Montilla and Montalbán de Córdoba, including the La Zarza bridge, between kilometres 5 and 6.
In Sevilla, the SE-6300 has reopened as it passes through Lebrija, which was closed yesterday between kilometres 0 and 6.

Less rain overnight

The highest accumulations overnight were recorded in Vejer de la Frontera (Cádiz), with 7.4 litres per square metre; Villarrodrigo (Jaén), with 2.6; Villanueva del Arzobispo (Jaén), with 1.6, and Córdoba-Prágdena, with 1.2 litres per square metre. The first vice-president of the Junta and minister of Presidency, Health and Emergencies, Antonio Sanz, explained at the Palacio de San Telmo that «the evolution has been favourable during the night» and that there are no adverse weather warnings in any province, which has made it possible to deactivate the plan. Sanz thanked the public for their collaboration and recalled that the self-protection advice was spread on social media and through two ES-Alert messages sent in the province of Almería.

What to do now

Although the plan is deactivated, the Agencia de Emergencias de Andalucía asks for caution in affected areas and for respect for the signage on closed roads.
