The 2026 call of the Junta's Empleo y Formación programme will have more money. The Boletín Oficial de la Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) has published the increase of the credit by 8.4 million euros, bringing the total budget from 108.1 to 116.5 million euros, according to the Regional Ministry of Employment, Enterprise and Self-Employment.
More applications than available money
The reason is that demand has exceeded forecasts. Once the submission period closed on September 11, 639 requests were received for an amount exceeding 232 million euros, well above the initial budget. Of these, 595 come from public entities and 44 from non-profit entities.
The additional money is distributed among six provinces: Almería, Córdoba, Granada, Jaén, Málaga and Sevilla. Cádiz and Huelva keep their initial allocations, since, after the preliminary study of the applications, extra funding was not considered necessary. With this change, projects from public entities have 112 million euros. The increase is financed with funds from the Administración General del Estado, charged to the General State Budget through the credits of the Servicio Público de Empleo Estatal.
One-year contracts with training
The Empleo y Formación programme foresees that participants are hired from the first day and for 12 months by the entities, which define and submit their own projects. Participants receive the salary corresponding to the effective work performed.
Projects last one year, are in-person and seek to improve the employability of unemployed people through activities of public utility or general and social interest. Training accounts for between 35% and 50% of the hours of each contract, taking 1,920 hours as a reference. The training plan must include at least the content necessary to obtain a professional certificate, as well as guidance, advice for job searching and employment information. Each project must have a minimum of ten students.
No new application deadline
The increase was already contemplated in the initial call, published in July, so it does not open a new application submission period nor change the resolution deadlines. Public entities can submit applications according to their population size: up to two for municipalities with fewer than 8,000 inhabitants and up to six for those with more than 50,000. In the case of local entities grouping several municipalities, the population of all of them is added together.
The resolution with the conditions can be consulted in the Boletín Oficial de la Junta de Andalucía.
