Journalists and media outlets wishing to apply for the Andalucía Journalism Awards can now submit their entries. The call for the forty-first edition was published in the Boletín Oficial de la Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) on Tuesday, October 20, according to the Junta.

Which works can be submitted

Only works published or broadcast in media outlets between October 17, 2025 and October 19, 2026 are accepted. There are six categories: Print media, Radio, Television, Photojournalism, Infographics and International Projection of Andalucía. Each work may only be submitted in one category, and each applicant, individually or as a team member, may submit a maximum of two projects per category. Individuals, alone or as a team, and legal entities may enter. In the International Projection category, only works broadcast in foreign media outlets are accepted.

How much it is worth and who decides

Each category is endowed with 10,000 euros and special mentions may be awarded. The jury is chaired by the Vice-Councillor of the Presidency, Tomás Burgos Gallego, and its members are Carmen Millán Gutiérrez, Inmaculada León Castro, Juan José Fontán Ysasi, Teresa Puig Calatayud, Raúl Doblado Barrera and Sebastián Torres Haro. Jorge Conde López serves as secretary. The Andalucía Award for Professional Career in Journalism follows a different procedure: it is not subject to competitive bidding, and it is the jury members who may propose candidates, who need the majority support of the jury. It recognises a professional of recognised prestige who has contributed to the defence and projection of Andalucía throughout their career.

How and until when to apply

The deadline is 15 working days from publication in the BOJA, that is, until November 10 inclusive. Applications are addressed to the Vice-Councillorship of the Presidency of the Regional Ministry of the Presidency, Health and Emergencies and are submitted together with the candidate works in the manner set out in section three of the call. Submission through the Registro Electrónico Único of the Junta de Andalucía is preferred, with the mandatory application form and, where applicable, the team declaration form.
