Traffic currently using the section of the Ronda de Poniente (A-3050) will be diverted from November along the branch road built for the first phase of the Ronda Norte de Córdoba works. The reorganisation has been coordinated by technicians from the Regional Ministry of Development and the Córdoba City Council, according to the Junta de Andalucía.

What changes for road users

The affected section is the 350 metres between the María de Maeztu and Turruñuelos roundabouts. It will go from two carriageways in each direction to a single lane in each direction. To reduce the impact, vehicles will use the branch road built for the works. Pedestrians keep the north-south connection, since the Ronda de Poniente crossing, located east of the María de Maeztu roundabout, remains open.

Travel recommendation

The Regional Minister of Development and Mobility, Mario Muñoz-Atanet, and the Mayor of Córdoba, José María Bellido, have recommended avoiding this road once the works begin, unless strictly necessary, and using alternative routes to get around the city.

A 30 million project

The work began in late 2025 and costs 30 million euros. The Regional Ministry and the City Council have been working on the reorganisation since this summer. The working meeting at the city hall was also attended by the Junta's Government Delegate in Córdoba, Adolfo Molina; the Director-General of Roads, Emilio Asensio; the Regional Delegate for Development in Córdoba, Carmen Granados, and the Deputy Mayor for Mobility of the Córdoba City Council, Bernardo Jordano.
