The Boletín Oficial del Estado (BOE) of Tuesday, October 20, 2026 publishes the dismissal of José María Martín Fernández as government subdelegate in Almería. The resolution is dated Friday, October 16 and is signed by the Delegación del Gobierno en la Comunidad Autónoma de Andalucía. It appears in the authorities and personnel section, within the dismissals subsection of the Ministerio de Política Territorial y Memoria Democrática.

What the Subdelegación del Gobierno is

The Subdelegación del Gobierno is the office that represents the Administración General del Estado in each province. It depends on the Delegación del Gobierno in the autonomous community, which in turn depends on the Ministerio de Política Territorial. It is the counter where citizens go for state procedures in the territory, such as immigration or documentation.

Five dismissals on the same day

The dismissal in Almería does not come alone. That same October 20, the BOE publishes identical resolutions from the Delegación del Gobierno en Andalucía for four other provinces: Córdoba, with the dismissal of Ana María López Losilla; Granada, with that of José Antonio Montilla Martos; Sevilla, with that of Francisco Toscano Rodero; and Málaga, with that of Francisco Javier Salas Ruiz. The five resolutions are dated October 16 and share the same section of the bulletin.
