The advance of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) aid for the 2026 campaign is already being paid in Andalusia. In total it is nearly 775 million euros for more than 187,600 farmers and livestock breeders in the eight provinces, according to the Regional Government of Andalusia. Of those beneficiaries, 69,310 are women, almost 37% of the total.

How much reaches each province

The distribution by province is as follows:
  • Jaén: more than 205.8 million for 71,302 beneficiaries.
  • Córdoba: nearly 177.2 million for 34,746 producers.
  • Sevilla: more than 163 million for 24,075 producers.
  • Granada: more than 81.8 million for 26,822 beneficiaries.
  • Cádiz: 57 million for 6,213 producers.
  • Málaga: nearly 47.8 million for 14,813 beneficiaries.
  • Huelva: nearly 28 million for 5,277 producers.
  • Almería: more than 14 million for 4,375 beneficiaries.

Up to 75% of the total

European regulations allow an advance of 50% of the granted aid to be paid from October 16, a percentage that can rise if Brussels' conditions are met. The Regional Government explains that the situation of the countryside in recent years has led to raising the advance to 70% in previous years and that in 2026 that amount will be exceeded by five percent. The goal is to pay 75% of the total approved aid in the coming weeks.

What is paid in this advance

Among the subsidies included are direct payments such as the basic income support for sustainability (451.5 million euros), the complementary redistributive income support for the same purpose (90.5 million) and the complementary income support for young farmers (six million). Eco-schemes are also included, such as vegetative covers in woody crops (107.8 million) and crop rotation with improving species (24 million). In the payments associated with agriculture, the aid for olive groves with specific difficulties (nearly ten million) and for nuts in areas at risk of desertification (3.6 million) stand out. In livestock farming, the main ones are those for extensive meat sheep and goats (15.7 million) and those for beef cattle (11.3 million).

What the advance is for

According to the Regional Government, the advance strengthens producers' liquidity at a key moment in the agricultural cycle and allows them to meet operating expenses. The Andalusian Administration notes that financial difficulties due to rising production costs, especially fertilizers, are one of the challenges of the European agricultural sector.
