The 2027 work calendar in Andalusia is now closed except for local holidays. The Regional Government set it in Decree 84/2026, published in the BOJA on May 5, and the BOE included it on October 13 in the list of holidays across Spain.

Two holidays that fall on Sunday

In 2027 February 28, Andalusia Day, and August 15, the Assumption, fall on Sunday. The decree moves them to the following Monday: Monday, March 1, and Monday, August 16. They are two three-day weekends.

The twelve public holidays

The long weekends, one by one

  • New Year: Friday, January 1, gives a three-day weekend.
  • Andalusia Day: from Saturday, February 27, to Monday, March 1.
  • Holy Week: from Palm Sunday, March 21, to Easter Sunday, the 28th. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are public holidays.

  • Pilar: October 12 falls on Tuesday; Monday the 11th remains as a bridge day.
  • All Saints' Day: from Saturday, October 30, to Monday, November 1.
  • December: Constitution Day, Monday the 6th, and the Immaculate Conception, Wednesday the 8th. With Tuesday the 7th free, five days join together, from Saturday the 4th to Wednesday the 8th.
May 1 and December 25 fall on Saturday and are not moved.

Local holidays

Each municipality adds two local holidays. Town councils had two months from the publication of the decree to propose them to the Regional Ministry of Employment, which will publish them in the BOJA. Some are already known: the Málaga Full Council approved its own on May 28, August 19, for the city's incorporation into the Crown of Castile, and September 8, the day of the Virgen de la Victoria.

Shops open 16 days

The Regional Government has also set the Sundays and public holidays in 2027 on which shops may open: January 3 and 10, March 1, March 25, May 2, July 4, August 1, 8 and 16, November 1 and 28, and December 6, 8, 12, 19 and 26. Each town council may change up to two of those days.
